Safety Program Development

For California employers, your overall safety program is commonly known as your Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP).

This program, when built correctly, is designed to help with the occupational health and safety of your workers, managers and other people who might visit your job site.

Health and Safety are very broad topics and it’s easy to get lost in all of the details. However, as your partner, we can provide safety management, including helping you to develop and implement your Injury and Illness Prevention Program.

The broad strokes of an IIPP must include how you will handle new worker and ongoing safety training, your expectation of work practices that will reduce risk, any and all known hazards of each job site, what employees should do if they see something that appears unsafe and what happens if someone is injured on the job site.

There are many subcategories of a well-designed Injury and Illness Prevention Program, including but not limited to your electrical safety program, your Fall Protection program and any other occupational health and safety concern that comes from your overall operations.

You are also expected to identify and provide all needed safety signage and equipment.

But, we are often contacted because an employer simply doesn’t know where to start with developing their IIPP and we are happy to help in any way we can. Our trained staff has developed numerous IIPP’s and have also been charged as reviewers and approvers for many State and Federal Projects.

In addition to helping you with your safety program development, we are also available to review what you have already created. This is an important service because the wrong time to discover that you’ve missed a key section in your IIPP is during an accident incident investigation.
